Research & Planning 31: Artist promotion (Social media)

After FOREVER I have decided to create Instagram and Twitter Social media pages for Adriana. These are both very international famous social media sites which practically everyone owns. A lot of famous music artists govern their own pages so that they can keep their fans in the know of their daily lives and I know this is necessary for the promotion of our artist and is essential in this day and age to give the fans a new platform by which they can be connected to our Artist. From my previous video about music artists website conventions, I pointed out how practically every website I visited had social media links. It is practically essential now in this modern world for you to be able to connect to your artists on a much more personal level and so I took it towards myself to create these pages~

Research & Planning 29 : Our Website Evaluation (And my commentary- I mean comments... please read.)

Hello everyone!!!

I used a site called smartsurvey to create a quick survey which I then sent out to as many people as possible to fill out and have them look at our website and give their feedback on it!!
Here is what the survey I created looked like:




Here are the responses we received:

  • First Question: "What Genre of music did you associate with our website?" Majority of people associated our website with the genre of ''Modern pop.' (87.50%) Surprisingly different than what we expected which would be a high percentage in the 'Dark pop' section (12.50%) However, for this question it was multiple choice which I deliberately set as so because there is always a mix of genres in music and so we understood how modern and relevant our artist 'Adriana' was so we were very much happy with the result of the first question.
  • Second Question: "What is your age range?" All of the people who answered our survey were in the age bracket "11-20" Which is exactly the scope of our target audience so we were very pleased. I would have prefered having some responses from the older age ranges but it is understandable as most people are busy with work, family etc and the youth of today have more free time (I wish I could say the same about myself haha)

  • Third Question:"Do you personally like the Website?" Only one person said No. I am actually glad that I decided to put in this question because at the end of the day the website is for the fans and having honest opinions is always a sign of further growth. So to know that some people may not like it is also an important factor compared to the 99% that do.
  • Fourth Question: "What part of the website grabbed your attention the most?". The responses to the question actually surprised me! I expected people to notice more the Merch pages and the gallery as I felt that provided a much more personal and interactive approach. However, 50% claimed it was the Album purchase/preview 37.50% the BTS Video I edited (yay) and 12.50% Tour/Ticket purchase. NO ONE LIKED MY MERCH (I'm going to sit in a corner and cry now I was really proud of my design skills haha. joking just in case some of you dont get it :') ) Yet aain really happy with the responses at it is a music artist website being able to have people interested in the music, album etc is most important!

  • Fifth Question: "What are your opinions about the website?" oh. no. the open ended question!! noooooooooo!!!! HAHA I made this compulsory to answer because you can only get so much from data and I wanted to hear the TRUTH...... and that's exactly what i got haha. never again. hehe Well, anyways what surprised me the most was the first response. It made me rethink my life decisions because I picked English Literature A level yet somehow I still don't know how to cpell (haha do you get it? no? it's Spell. I apologise for the inconvenience caused with my lame puns ANYWAY-). I didn't go over the articles or even the homepage when I sent it for review (hits head in shame) Of Course that was fixed IMMEDIATELY. Overall everyone was really positive in their responses at you can see above. (Someone called it simplistic which I will take to my grave. 

  • Maybe I shouldn't have made it anonymous because now I wanna find the person because I just wanna TALK.*triggered*) Honestly, I have seen other students websites (out of curiosity lol) and I know how different ours looks in comparison HOWEVER. from my research (And planning because you know.. the title i-) people go to a music artists website for the MUSIC because that's what we're trying to sell and that is what's important and should be focused on and what I did. so. mission succeded. and nO. That wasn't an indirect to that response. I'm not triggered I jus-

  • Last Question: "Did you like the BTS video on the website?" OBVIOUSLY, this question was put together by me. (I need to know man not only for Adriana but for my wellbeing in life haha)Responses varied which was good Overall it was positive (Which is all I care abo-)and only ONE person decided to leave a further comment (thank you kind samaritan) I actually agreed with their suggestion to have more of a preview however the video is a BTS so obviously no the music video will facilitate that and since this is only a PROJECT for A2 Media Studies(I did clarify that when asking for feeback:3) Adriana can't sing (not that I know of, should've probably aske-) so obviously that's out of the equation lip sync ftw.

What I learned:
Never ask for feedback again because the truth HURTS. and also drop A level english becauseafteralltheseyears Istillcantproofrea-
Ahem.
I really learnt a lot more about meeting the needs of a target audience and being able to understand the fundamentals of getting feedback. In the end, I and Seher will be meeting again soon to discuss the results to these questions and any improvements to the website that we believe need to be done.(First of all we will need an editor because my english is-)

Research & Planning 28 : HERE IS OUR BEHIND THE SCENES VIDEO!!!


Today I decided to create a quick collage behind the scenes video with an online video editor called: 'clipchampcreate' have a little insight into behind the scenes of our filming and some extra scenes that didn't make the original cut!! :) (It took me awhile to get the instrumental audio so I ended up creating my own by using various phone apps to take away the singing audio on top... but it was worth it!!! haha)

Research & Planning 26: Costumes and Props

Hello!!! 
Here I will be showing you the different 'Costumes' and 'Props' we used for our music video!!!
Props:
Hair dryer(why? watch the clip haha):



(Yes. I'm the one with the hairdryer)

Smoke Grenades
(This is the brand we used. would 100% recommend)

canon 800D Camera and Tripod. It's great. haha


Costumes:
(This is Seher's newly bought. We weren't planing on using this then we did so...)

(cool. Simple black look with ripped jeans aim was to bring more attention to Adriana. And attract the fact that she's not wearing makeup!)

(Simple yet fitting for the outdoors vibe we were aiming for. We wet her hair for this scene as the main focal point [if you can see the water follicules in her hair here haha])

(Red. Bold. Goes with the 'strong women' aspect we wanted to convey so we made her wear red.)
(Really liked the material on this jacket. It reflects well under the neon lights which looks good on camera!!)

(Notice the Tiger embroided on her jumper. That is there purposefully as a symbol of adriana's character and goes with the songs meaning "like a lion, uncontrolled" yes. its a tiger, we're students and we're on a budget lol.)

(This costume idea wasn't planned. I 'kinda' forced it in as it added to the city elements of the music video and the dynamics of Adriana's character through her costume changes in all of her london scenes. And the jackets amazing, very expensive tho. Urban Outfitters.)

Research & Planning 25 : Day 2 Filming...

Two words:
Smoke. Bombs.
(It's meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. hi.)Our second day has been a success minus the mishap in us buying a really bad smokebomb first of all. (Seher goes into much detail about this on her blog lol it wasn't THAT bad!) yes we're making steady progress just wanted to hit you uys up and let you know its going well!! keep posted for more!!!

Research & Planning 24: Day 1 filming...

Yes.. That sound is the hair dryer. In order for us to create our "Wind blown" effect we made use of every possible thing as we are students and no we don't have access to profesional equiment haha. I'm the wind machince operator today and seher is taking the lovely shots of adriana for our test shoot and if any come out well we will definetley use them towards our website, digipak or social media!

The first shoot has been amazing and I will be making sure to keep you all updated soon!.... #adrianators (hmm I like it might use it in the future *wink*)

Research & Planning 22: Our Website!!!

Hello everyone I'm very proud to announce our website!!!!!

Features of our website:
We showcased our companies brand and colour scheme throughout the website and also in the music video (Which will be out soon!)

We included a sound sample of Adriana's hit In It (The first few seconds) and direct links to purchase the album or song straight away for those interested!

We also included a little biography about our new song and adrianas time filming with plans to share behind the scene clips that we have made once the music video is out as to engage with our audiences and build more hype and excitement about the song releasing.

In order to make our artists site more authentic, we felt it was appropriate to include 'tour' dates and links to book tickets for her most recent next upcoming tour in America as we wanted to build the excitement for this release in a global aspect with the use of a worldwide tour and social media!! :)

Here we have a little description of Ariana as an artist and also the important contact information to our 'base' and the important links to follow us on all the popular social media: Facebook, Twitter etc 

I designed some merch for us to sell to our fans in celebration of the release of this song. I personalised bags, shirts even jumpers with Ariana's name in our distinct 'pacifico' font and made sure they were at affordable prices of course.

In the end, I included the subscribe section for fans who like to email updates from our exclusive subscription service for live updates and news about Adriana and as you can see from the video and the image above once you enter in your address you get a message confirmation! (I can't believe it works!)
